Thanksgiving Pictures

We had a wonderful time up in Annapolis for Thanksgiving. Sean got to meet his Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa Jacobs along with the rest of my family. We also celebrated my dad's 60th birthday!!

It's finally time to put the exersaucer to good use! Sean looks pretty small in it but I think he'll get the hang of it soon enough :)

Aunt E's Visit

We were lucky enough to have Aunt E visit with us for a few days this past week. It was so nice to spend time together although we didn't leave the house very often! Sean loved having Elise around and seemed to fall asleep in her arms a lot :) We hope to see each other again around Christmas.... fingers crossed!

3 Months Old!

I just can't believe he's already 3 months!

Poor baby got his first shots last week. He was just shocked that the nurse he was flirting with one minute could be so mean the next minute!

The best part of this photo is the spitup on my shoulder. I think every article of clothing I own looks like this now.

Thanks to everyone for Sean's lovely outfits! We had a great Halloween yesterday!!

1st Roadtrip!

What a weekend! We went up to Richmond for a few days to visit with John's family and Sean did great. He got to meet his Aunt Michelle, Uncle Marshall & Aunt Megan, Great-Grandaddy & Great-Mamaw Bryant, John's Aunt Gale & Uncle Mike and Aunt Katie (second cousin Katie just didn't sound right, haha) . It was a really special weekend and a lot of fun :) Sean was so tired he slept until 6:45 Saturday morning and 7:45 Sunday morning! Yikes! He did pretty well in the car, too, so hopefully there will be many more trips in our future.

Hands Taste So Good

We think Sean discovered his hands today. He hasn't looked at them yet but has started putting them in his mouth every chance he gets! He's starting to grab his blankets (and my hair!) a lot, too. How exciting!!

Sean's First Pumpkin!

We FINALLY got to the pumpkin patch yesterday to get our pumpkins for Halloween. I'm not sure Sean really knew what was going on but he did great in his Bjorn and if you can believe it wasn't the youngest baby there (there was a 3 week old which really reminded me how much Sean has grown in these past 2 months). It will be funny to think that next year he'll be walking around and I'm sure wanting to go on the tractor ride!! :)

2 Months Old!

I can't believe our baby boy is 2 months old already! We don't realize how much he's changed since we see him every day but if you compare his 1 month picture there's a real difference. He's growing up so fast! GASP!

Ok so you have to watch these videos in order. John and I keep saying that we have to capture Sean's agony between the time he decides he's hungry and when we can get the bottle ready for him. It's probably about 3 minutes but with this cry you'd think it was 3 days :)

First Official Playdate

This morning we had our first official playdate! We went across the street to visit Miss Jessica and Rylan who is 9 months old. Little does Sean know that the two of them will be best buds in a few short months! I think Rylan was confused why Sean was so boring....

Afterwards we can home for a quick lunch then it was off to BJ's. I told John that as I was leaving the store I thought - Wow! What a busy day it's been (and it was only 4) - but then I realized that every day is this busy and I just better get used to it. My hats off to all the ladies before me....

Grandaddy & Grandma Leigh Visit

We had a really good time with Grandaddy & Grandma Leigh last week. Sean definitely loves all the attention :) We can't wait to see everyone again soon up in Richmond!

One thing Leigh and I did was go through all of the bottles, etc. to see if we should move Sean to anything different to help him eat faster. There's so much stuff and it's SO confusing.... I just had to take a picture to explain!

Getting the Hang Of It!

Well today was a great day! John went to work in the morning so Sean had to come with me for my doctor's visit. I got a clean bill of health (which is great except it means I can once again vacuum and exercise - yuck!) so I'm really excited. We were at the doctor's office for almost 2 hours and Sean did great. All the ladies ooo'd and aahh'd over him and he loved it. He even cracked a smile :) After a quick diaper change in the back of the car, Sean and I met up with John and had a nice lunch outside at one of the local bistros. Sean had his bottle while John and I ate (I'm getting good at eating with one hand and feeding Sean with the other). After we said goodbye to Dad, Sean and I were off to Harris Teeter. This was a big step for me - I was a little nervous to be honest. But once we got inside I realized I was in good company. There were literally at least 10 other moms with car seats in their shopping carts just like me! It was funny. I'm actually starting to feel like I'm getting the hang of things. It's been such a huge change and a lot to learn but we're getting there... one day at a time!

I took this video Saturday night after the VT/Miami game. It was another long day of football watching and Sean was absoutely exhausted! haha

When Good PJs Go Bad

Ewwwww! Well they say a picture is worth a thousand words... :) This happened last night somewhere between 6 and 7 am!

And here is Sean in one of his new Swedish outfits..... Thank You Mats, Ellen and Hana!! They are they best clothes ever!!

Free At Last!

Well we made our first big trip out of the house today. FREEDOM!! First we went to my favorite coffee house for breakfast and coffee outside. Then to a park where we hung out in DoDo Brown's trunk so Sean could eat and finally to BJ's. I can't tell you how absolutely liberated I feel today. Sean did so great - slept pretty much the whole time :) I think this marks the beginning of a wonderful fall!

September Pics

Here are some updated pictures (I'll probably add some more over the next week so check back!).
Sean is growing a lot... our unscientific weight check tonight puts him around 10.5 pounds! I gave the Baby Bjorn (thanks Sweden!) a try today and liked it a lot. So far I'm just using it around the house - need to work up my stamina :) - but hope to take him out and about in it soon. Sean enjoyed another Hokie football game this past Saturday... he might be our good luck charm as the Hokies pulled out an awesome win at the end of the game.
I took his one month picture in his awesome Chick Magnet outfit from Uncle Marshall and Aunt Megan. Can he get any cuter?!?

Don't Go!

Well, John's parents are leaving today marking the end to the help from our parents since Sean was born. Gus and Leigh have been here for almost a week, teaching us the "tricks of the trade" so to speak. It's wonderful that Sean has been able to spend so much time with his Grandma and Grandaddy Ward, and John and I have really appreciated the meals, naps and our lunch date :) Now it's time to see how John and I do on our own (GASP!).

Aunt Carolyn's Visit

A Baby That Likes a Bath?!

I don't know how we got so lucky but Sean seems to really enjoy getting a bath. I have to admit, it does look kinda nice... soaking in that big tub with warm water, looking out the kitchen window with the warm sun in the afternoon. What a life! The only tricky part is that we end up going in the bath, then Sean pees, then we get out of the bath, drain the water, wash everything out, re-fill, then put Sean back in, then he poops, then we get out of the bath, drain the water, wash everything out, re-fill.... you get the picture. He was actually peeing on my hand in the picture below. Geez, the things you get used to quickly as a parent!

Lamb Swings and Changing Tables - Oh My!

Sean discovered the little animals that spin around above his lamb swing today. He watched in amazement for a while before falling asleep (must have been too much excitement!).





It's still hard to get pictures where he has his eyes open so we had to settle for the one below -at least he's smiling! Don't you just love the matching socks?! Thanks Great-Grandma Jacobs :)

This was a big day - Sean's first "real" bath. He did great and seemed to love the warm water!

Notice the milk about to dribble all over his bib. Honestly I never thought we'd use half of the bibs we received as gifts and now some are already cracking from being washed so much!

Another Surprise Visit

John and my dad pulled off a great surprise this past weekend - my dad showed up Friday night for a quick weekend visit. It was my parent's 39th wedding anniversary and of course my dad couldn't wait to see Sean again but secretly I think my dad was getting tired of eating Lean Cusines and just couldn't wait to see my Mom ;)
