Feeding Baby

July Update

Wow we’ve been busy this month.  We’ve basically been running a bed & breakfast out of our house.  However, at our nontraditional B&B, we serve Pop Tarts and donuts for breakfast, guests sleep on the floor, pitch in with childcare and are more tired when they leave than when they got here.  Gotta love family.  Here is a recap of the past few weeks:

> Grandma came to help out while Emmi was on vacation.  Grandaddy was able to come for a few days during that time as well…

> Pop Pop, GG, Carolyn, Mats, Ellen and Hana came in town for a few days. We headed up to Asheville over the weekend for the McDaris family reunion…

::  Sean was really tired by this point and refused to be in our annual McDaris Cove Road picture above.  He preferred sitting in the driver seat wearing my sunglasses.  That’s my boy… ::

> Uncle Marshall and Aunt Megan came to visit….

> John got the boat out a few times (and I was finally able to go for the first time this summer!)…

> And Polly and the boys were stirring up trouble as usual….

I Will Sleep on Anyone, Any Time, Any Place

As I mentioned in my first post about Dylan, he’s a real snuggle bug.  He loves to be held and will usually fall asleep within a few minutes.  Although it makes getting things done around the house almost impossible, I’m tying to soak it up because I know how quickly this time will pass….

 

These last 2 pictures are so funny – they were taken 10 days apart but apparently Dylan likes this position and we like his Silly Bug PJs!

Mickey Mouse!

We were given: Two hands to hold. Two legs to walk. Two eyes to see. Two ears to listen. But why only one heart? Because the other was given to someone else. For us to find.

John’s Aunt Judy and Uncle Wallace sent Sean and Dylan their very own, straight from Disney World, totally fantastic Mickey Mouse stuffed animals.  The package was delivered straight to Sean’s cardboard box house and he couldn’t wait to open it.  Mickey is a very popular guy around our house these days – Sean loves watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on the Disney channel.  In the beginning, it was a bit hard for John and me to get into the cartoon because it’s so much different than the Mickey cartoons we grew up with, let alone what our parents grew up with (Pop Pop and GG came in one day singing “M-I-cccccc, K-E-yyyyy, Why? because we like you…..” and we had to explain that Sean has never even heard that song! haha) but it’s actually a lot of fun to watch.  Thank goodness for the DVR :)

I'm really behind on my posts but took this video yesterday and thought I'd put it up in the meantime. Uncle Marshall and Aunt Megan had just left and we were just spending a lazy Sunday inside to keep cool and recover from all the fun we had over the weekend!

Zero to Four in Less Than Two

Two years ago, our friends Chris and Emily and John and I were two couples with no kids.  Now, less than two years later, we have to request a table for 8 if we go out to eat.  YIKES!! They came over yesterday for a quick visit and it was just wild to see how much things can change in two years.  Sean is just a few months older than Julia, and Lucas is just a few months older than Dylan.  But we all agree that Julia is going to whip those boys into shape as they get older ;) ha ha

Taking a nice afternoon snooze….

Dylan’s first tub bath at 3 weeks 1 day, followed that evening by the first night in his crib instead of a cradle in mommy and daddy’s room.  Look at that belly!!
