How exciting! I finally have enough video clips and pictures for Dylan’s first official video montage. At first I was going to try and keep this sweet and sentimental but after getting everything together, you realize that Dylan has so many funny faces and is so loud all the time that it’s hard not to just laugh (with him of course). What a ham!

2 years & 2 months
Those were the well-child doctor appointments we had this morning. Holy shizzzoly. Time flies.
But the boys did really well, got lots of shots but good bills of health. Here are their stats:
- Height – 35 inches (75th percentile)
- Weight – 28 pounds (50th percentile)
Dylan:
- Height – 22.5 inches (25 – 50th percentile)
- Weight – 12 pounds 8 ounces (50 – 75th percentile)
After the doctor, we went across the street to get some pizza.
Holy pizza Batman! Look at the size of those things!! We’re happy to announce that Dylan and Sean both polished off their respective pieces. Here’s to making their way up to the 90th percentile in weight. wink wink.

A Fast 2 Years
It’s amazing how time seems to go faster every day. When we reflect on the past two years and all of the blessings we’ve been given it’s truly is amazing. It’s not always easy but it’s always worth it. We sure are proud of our little boy and love him with all of our hearts.
Sean is 2! Is That Mickey Mouse?
The best part of the day was when Mickey Mouse himself showed up to wish Sean a Happy Birthday and do the Hot Dog dance with him!!

Sean was thrilled as his friends started showing up….
And of course, everyone seemed to have the most fun with Sean’s cardboard box that he’s built over several weeks with Emmi (it’s a wonder we spend any money at all on toys when they have so much fun in a box)…
Sean got lots of awesome presents (many we had to open after the 2 and under crowd left for their naps (so they could rest up just in case they wanted to get up in the middle of the night)…..

Sean turned 2 this past weekend. Where did the time go?
Sean was lucky enough to have his grandparents and Aunt Michelle come to visit for the weekend to celebrate. We had a small party with Sean’s “baby friends” (you know, the 2 and under crowd) to celebrate. He was so excited that they came – he talked about them all week leading up to his party and kept reminding us that he had to wait for them to come. Sounded something like:
:: “Sean – do you know who’s coming this weekend?” ::
:: “Friends! Birthday. Cake. Wait. Two. “ ::
Everyone was busy with a job as soon as they got here (remember our theory of a B&B…. make the guests work for that bed and let them go home more tired than

Dylan’s First "Almost Smile”
Dylan will be 8 weeks old on Friday and he’s yet to start smiling. :: big sigh :: He’s just starting to coo a bit but he’s really making us work hard for any interaction!
Emmi caught this “almost smile” yesterday when he was on his play mat. It’s not technically a “social smile” as the doctors will want to know about (he better start smiling before his next appointment or I’ll be forced to white lie a tad for his sake…. kidding….) but I think it at least shows he’s getting his smile muscles in shape!

July Update
Wow we’ve been busy this month. We’ve basically been running a bed & breakfast out of our house. However, at our nontraditional B&B, we serve Pop Tarts and donuts for breakfast, guests sleep on the floor, pitch in with childcare and are more tired when they leave than when they got here. Gotta love family. Here is a recap of the past few weeks:
> Grandma came to help out while Emmi was on vacation. Grandaddy was able to come for a few days during that time as well…
> Pop Pop, GG, Carolyn, Mats, Ellen and Hana came in town for a few days. We headed up to Asheville over the weekend for the McDaris family reunion…
:: Sean was really tired by this point and refused to be in our annual McDaris Cove Road picture above. He preferred sitting in the driver seat wearing my sunglasses. That’s my boy… ::
> Uncle Marshall and Aunt Megan came to visit….
> John got the boat out a few times (and I was finally able to go for the first time this summer!)…
> And Polly and the boys were stirring up trouble as usual….
